Do you love music? Do you want to be a part of a company that is revolutionizing the African music space? Jwompa Media Group is a US-based African music services company. Our flagship application, Jwompa, is the first-ever music streaming app to personalize African music delivery based on listeners’ country, language, tribe, and cultural affiliations. This means less work to discover – more immersion & entertainment.


We are looking to recruit interns to join our 2021 Internship Program. The goal of this program is to give current students and recent grads an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Media & Technology industry. Interns will get an opportunity to rotate within our departments which include: Content Curation, Technology, Marketing, and Operations. Following the rotation, interns will be aligned with a specific department based on their interests and skills. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of the Jwompa app, and the way the world experiences African music.


Length of Program: Feb 2021 – Apr 2021 (3 months)

Compensation: Unpaid/Intern-to-Hire

Details: Students currently enrolled in school will participate in the abridged version of the internship remotely. Non-students will participate in the extended version of the internship. The extended version is both remote and in-person at our East Legon office. 

Office Location: East Legon (Accra, Ghana)


What we are looking for: 

  • Strong preference for those who are graduate students, recent college graduates, or current/rising college juniors and seniors.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 25+ hours per week, with a strong preference for those who can work full-time (40 hours per week).
  • Excellent communication, both written or oral. 
  • Team player – able to work with people from different backgrounds
  • Relevant higher education (BA or higher). Sufficient relevant experience might compensate for a lack of higher education.



  • Intern-to-Hire: We use this program as a pipeline to hire our full-time paid employees.
  • Our office: Is located on Jungle Road, East Legon, Accra. We have a great ambiance filled with music. Our office is within short walking distance to public transportation and restaurants.
  • Diverse team: Our strength is diversity, and we are proud to say that our team is on pace to have representation from all 54 African countries.
